These include softwoods such as cedar, Douglas fir, larch, and pressure-treated wood; hardwoods including ipe, bangkirai, chestnut, and beech; and modified timbers such as Accoya, Kebony, and thermally heat-treated wood. It can be applied to both new and weathered uncoated wood, as well as surfaces that have previously been treated, provided all old coatings are fully removed beforehand.
