Exterior Solutions Ltd. kept it simple with a new roof garden terrace. To keep the structure simple and cost-effective, they installed 20mm thick porcelain paving units directly onto pedestals.
The unit size of 400 x 1200 x 20mm was chosen to provide a paving unit that complimented the dimension of the terrace. This project took 3 tradesmen 2 days, proving a cost effective installation in terms of both, materials and labour.
There are 4mm gaps in-between the tiles to allow for drainage onto a membrane set to falls underneath. Furthermore, the almost 25 Kg weight of each tile holds everything in place and if you do need access to any area underneath you can simply use a tile clamp to lift them.
It is advisable to use self levelling pedestals as this makes the installation process much quicker. These also have a rubber layer on top to aid acoustic resonance. These pedestals are our New Maxi Paving Support.
