This property is set on the fringe of a forest and, of course surrounded by trees, a beautiful setting for a house that needed renovating and extending. The house has a magnificent interior with a double height living and dining area, panoramic windows to the rear elevation with incredible views, un-spoilt and into the distance.
Design details
The client demanded attention to detail, accurate installation and a beautiful hardwood cladding system that showed no fixings. We recommended Exterpark Ipe hardwood for the cladding and also the decking. The aluminium covering to go over the waste pipe will look lovely when the client gets around to it.
Owatrol is always our go-to choice for any given timber project, a sensible deglaze with Prepdeck and a neutralise with Net-Trol, both by Owatrol. The oil was D1 in a clear format, Deks Olje D1 really is a sensible choice for the best in marine grade timber oils for Ipe decking. Specifically designed to penetrate hardwood timbers.
Once this timber has seasoned to a beautiful silver grey the full scale of the design intent will show through. The house will certainly look its best in a couple of years from now. Black, Silver and white… now that’s contemporary.
